Frelo vs Dubsado
Dubsado is a business-management platform for creative service providers, built around forms, workflows, contracts and client portals. It is popular with photographers and designers and goes considerably deeper on workflow automation than Frelo does.
What each one costs
Every Dubsado figure below is quoted from their own pricing page, read on August 21, 2026. Prices change — check theirs before deciding, and tell us if this page has gone stale.
| Frelo | Dubsado | |
|---|---|---|
| How it's billed | Per account, monthly. One person, one price. | Per account, billed annually, with three additional users included. The monthly figures below are the annual price divided by twelve, not a monthly plan Dubsado sells. |
| Entry plan | Free — $0/month, 2 clients and 3 projects, no card, no time limit | Starter — $335/year, about $27.92/month |
| Portal + contracts + invoicing | Pro — $19/month, unlimited clients and projects, including the branded client portal, contracts with e-signatures, Stripe invoicing and payments, time tracking, expenses and the finance dashboard | Starter — $335/year, about $27.92/month. It includes client portals and invoicing; scheduling is Premier only, at $525/year, about $43.75/month. |
| Also charges | Nothing on top. Card and ACH payments run through your own Stripe account at your own Stripe rates; Frelo takes no cut. |

- Form and workflow automation well beyond anything Frelo has — questionnaires, lead capture, and multi-step sequences that fire on their own
- Multiple brands under one account, if you run more than one business
- Scheduling on the Premier plan
- Three additional users included, where Frelo is built for one person
- A mature template ecosystem and an established community
- You would rather pay monthly. Dubsado's plans are billed annually; Frelo Pro is $19/month, cancellable at any point.
- You bill by the hour and want invoices built from tracked time rather than assembled by hand.
- You want to try it properly before paying. Dubsado's trial is 21 days; Frelo's free plan has no time limit and takes no card, though it caps you at 2 clients and 3 projects.
What Frelo does not do
Frelo starts once you have the client. It has no client-facing scheduling or booking pages, proposals or lead-capture forms, a CRM pipeline, native mobile apps and no full bookkeeping or accounting. If those are the parts of your week you want software for, Dubsado is the more complete product and you should buy it.
What Frelo does instead is the stretch after the deal is signed: one link your client opens without an account, invoices built from tracked hours, and a finance view that tells you what you are owed. See the full feature list.
Common questions
- Is Frelo cheaper than Dubsado?
- Yes, on the entry plans. Dubsado's Starter is $335/year — about $27.92/month — against Frelo Pro at $19/month. Dubsado bills annually, so the comparison is a year of Dubsado against a year of Frelo at $228. Figures are from Dubsado's pricing page, checked on the date shown on this page.
- Does Dubsado do contracts and e-signatures?
- Yes. Its pricing page does not list them, but Dubsado's help centre documents contracts with signature and initial fields, time-stamped signing records and IP capture. We say so because inferring absence from a pricing page would have been wrong.
- What does Dubsado do that Frelo does not?
- Workflow and form automation, multiple brands, client scheduling on Premier, and a much deeper template library. If your bottleneck is repeatable client onboarding rather than billing, Dubsado is built for that and Frelo is not.
