But for most solo freelancers, it does: one app for client communication, another for invoices, a third for time tracking, and a spreadsheet cobbled together for expenses. Every context switch costs time. Every separate login is friction you don't need.

Frelo started as a frustration with that. The goal was simple: build one place where a freelancer can run their entire client relationship — from project status to invoicing to payments — and make it dead simple for clients too, without forcing them to create yet another account.

The result is Frelo: a client portal, invoicing tool, time tracker, and finance dashboard in a single workspace. Free to start. No contracts. No bloat.

The decision that shapes everything else is the portal. Most tools treat the client as an afterthought — someone who receives a PDF and is otherwise invisible. We built the other way round: your client gets one link, no password, no app, and everything about the engagement lives behind it. That constraint is why invoices, files, approvals and project status all share one place rather than four.

It also shapes what we won't do. We don't take a cut of your invoices — payments go straight to your own Stripe account. We don't run analytics or advertising trackers, so there is nothing to harvest from your visitors. And we publish every third-party service that touches your data, because a freelancer answering their own client's questions should not have to guess at ours.
